I hope you all had a safe and restful holiday season! I sure did!
Today was a fantastic day back to school, so much enthusiasm and positivity from the students.
A quick reminder that tomorrow is our Learning Commons day - so although most library bags have already been returned to school, if you have a library book/bag at home please send them back tomorrow!
Today we learned all about shapes and then did an art project with them - learning about the shapes we discussed how many points and sides that each basic shape has. We learned this about diamonds, squares, rectangles, triangles, circles, and ovals! We did a fun sorting task as a whole group after we learned all about the shapes!
We also started a new way of doing centers and snack today! Instead of having them separately, we have snack and centers at the same time now (the students choose how much time to dedicate to each and when they would like to each one). We put on a timer and then we can choose how to use that half an hour! With this, we have started all new centers today, out with the old, in with the new :-)
After snack and center time we did some art using the shapes we sorted earlier! We are not finished yet, but we have completed the biggest part - making the body of the animal we chose out of shapes!
Thank you all for reading, and I'll see you tomorrow!
Ms. Brinson
