I have a few things I want to mention to you today:
1. Many of us have been having some difficulty following directions/listening during carpet time, so we have reviewed as a class that our job at school is to listen and learn. Please discuss this with your child.
2. To help us improve our learning environment, I am asking for your help! I have found an increase in certain items that students have been bringing to school that are not related to learning and have been causing a distraction for us in the classroom. Among these items are vitamins, makeup items, electronics, and scented items such as body sprays. Please keep these items at home - I have let the students know that from now forward if they are at school and are a distraction then I will collect them and ask that a parent/caregiver come and pick them up from me.

Today we created new calendar cards for the month of February, all themed around love! We brainstormed who we could love, this included pets, family, friends, and teachers/caregivers.We even read a fantastic book about unlikely animal friendships - ask your child about it.
Also, we had time for table tubs today - our math skills are growing and growing!
Lastly, thank you all so much for your contributions to Koala's and Kangas (organized by our Coventry Cares Club) - we have raised $81 dollars so far! Amazing!!!
